Collection: Summer Sips

All weather is wine weather! But summer is always a little more special. We present an expertly curated selection of our favourite wines to sip your way through these sunny days; be it with friends in the garden, or a balmy evening alone on the balcony – you are certain to find the perfect wine for the perfect occasion.

Here are just a few examples of what you can find:

Hundred Hills, Signature Rosé, 2018 – (Oxfordshire, GB)

Certainly a go-to here at CB Wine. When we think of summer, we think of Hundred Hills’ Rosés: effervescent, elegant, crisp, refreshing, a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity, and a remarkable complexity for English sparkling wine. Strawberries, rose petals, citrus, and a subtle minerality: you really can’t design a more perfect summer sip.

Pahlmeyer, Jayson Sauvignon Blanc 2021– (Napa Valley, USA)

A complex, crisp, but light Sauvignon Blanc provides the perfect refreshment on a hot day, and Pahlmeyer produce some of the finest in the Napa area. Their Jayson Sauvignon Blanc has a bright floral bouquet to match the aestival flowers, and a pronounced burst of sweet tropical and citrus fruit on the palate, all perfectly balanced by the precise acidity and clean minerality in the finish. An excellent example of a Californian white which has it all.

Les Enracinés, Beaujolais Gamay, 2023 – (Beaujolais, FR)

Seldom a first choice in the English heat, red wines can certainly be the perfect companion as the balm of evening sets in. A younger, lighter style of red wine is what you are after, such as gamay, the only red grape varietal permitted in Beaujolais. Overseen by Terroirs et Talents, Les Enracinés is a collaborative natural wine project from independent producers in the Mâconnais and Beaujolais regions, who wanted to bring together their love of wine and nature. Fresh red fruit and flowers on the nose, and light, juicy, fruit-forward profile, reinforced by a vibrant acidity, we are on our last bottles, so grab one while you can.
