2012 Hoffmann Vineyard Shiraz is a tour de force. Between the mint and floral aromas, vanilla oak and deep, plummy fruit, you'll forgive me if I didn't notice this wine's considerable alcohol (it's 15.6%). Full-bodied, rich and supple, the long, licorice-tinged finish is swaddled in the softest, most-cuddly tannins imaginable. This is a beauty!
