Colgin are one of the central pillars of Napa's small production icons, defining the precision and style we love and expect from the region: fruit-driven, yet not sugary or overripe. The 2004 vintage of Colgin's flagship Bordeaux-blend is wonderfully aged and ready, bringing the classic notes of cassis, black cherries, liquorice, leather, tobacco, earth, mocha, graphite, and smoked meats. Very balanced, complex, and with smooth dusty tannins in the finish.

Good deep red. Rather exotic nose combines scents of hard candy, wild sage, iron, burning embers, cayenne and tangerine; more red than black in character. Lush, seamless and sweet in the mouth but not as deep as the Cariad. Finishes broad and a bit soft, with substantial dusty tannins.
