Not to be outdone, the 100% Merlot cuvée, the 2013 Roberta’s Reserve was harvested between September 19 and October 4. Slightly more powerful with 14.2% alcohol, this packed and stacked 2013 is still unevolved, but it is loaded with potential. Its opaque black/purple color is followed by notes of white chocolate, mocha, espresso beans, black cherries, licorice, incense and blacker fruits. Opulent and voluptuously textured, this is a stunning red to drink over the next 20 years.
