The 2019 vintage of Leeuwin Estate's Art Series Riesling offers a slightly more evolved expression than its younger counterpart. While retaining its zesty citrus core, it introduces subtle notes of honey and petrol, hinting at its aging potential. The palate remains energetic, underpinned by a mineral freshness that carries through to a long, satisfying finish.

Leeuwin's latest Riesling release is a bright and ultraracy bottling. It opens with a lemony zing, accompanied by waxy lime leaf, fresh ginger and a touch of salty reduction. The palate is bone dry and chalky textured, with rapier acidity. This might be a tad on the lean and mean side for some American palates but those acidity-loving Riesling lovers will dig it. Plus, it should cellar rather nicely. Drink now with food until 2030 at least.
