The 2020 Pinot Noir Slander includes fruit from Sonoma and the Sta Rita Hills AVA. It spent nine months in roughly 50% new French oak, yet it still shows delicate floral (rose) notes and ripe cherries, but with dark overtones of mocha. Full-bodied and softly dusty in feel, it still seems a bit clumsy and oversized to this taster, although it does deliver plenty of flavor.
