Is there a bigger name in Bordeaux than Petrus? This wine hails from such an iconic and legendary estate that it is almost difficult to find words... Their reputation has persisted for centuries, and they are frequently touted as the best wine the world has ever produced. The 2005 vintage is yet another hallmark in their lineage of exceptionality: a breathtakingly powerful, concentrated, and pure wine, with notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, cedar, orange rind, chocolate, dried mint, graphite, dried flowers, with an unctuous body, huge tannins, and a subtle acidic spine primed for balancing. This wine has just entered its drinking window, and will last to the end of the century no doubt.

A sleeping giant. Dark ruby in color, showing aromas of blackberry, cepe and green olive, with a hint of mineral. Full-bodied, with ultrafine tannins and a supercaressing mouthfeel. Turns to coffee, dark chocolate and berry. Chewy yet balanced. Very, very long in the mouth. The finish is absolutely breathtaking. Best after 2013.
